Dr. Akinyemi Agbede (born May 5, 1964) is a Nigerian-American mathematician and political figure, notable for his contributions to STEM education in the United States and his political aspirations in California.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Dr. Agbede is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Israel Dada Agbede. He attended Baptist Academy Obanikoro for his Higher School Certificate and later studied Mathematics at the University of Lagos. Additionally, he attended the Redeemed Christian Bible College. Dr. Agbede earned a Ph.D. in Mathematical Analysis from the prestigious University of Cambridge.
